One of the primary pillars of Oracle HCM Cloud is Talent Management, and one of its processes is Goal Management. It assists with aligning business and employee goals. Here in this blog, we will be discussing further the processes and the steps involved in Goal Management.
In Goal Management, you can transform business objectives into goals across various organization levels, providing a clear line of sight from managers to employees. As a business leader, you can communicate high-level initiatives that managers can translate into goals for their subordinates.
Perform the task Manage Review Periods to create and manage review periods so that you can use them to organize your processes around goal management and performance evaluations into time-bound business cycles.
A review period should be created on an annual basis. This process step should be done before the new year begins.
The review period is a prerequisite for the Performance document. The review period is common for the Goal Plan and Performance Document. We should use the same review period for the Goal Plan and Performance Document.
Manage goal eligibility profiles
Perform the task “Manage Eligibility Profiles” to restrict goals to individuals based on the Eligibility criteria
Manage Goal Plans
Perform the task “Manage Goal Plans” to manage and update goal plans.
A Goal Plan should be created on an annual basis. This process step should be done before the new year begins. Goal Plan is a prerequisite for the Performance document.
Manage Goal Library
Perform the task “Manage Goal Library” to create and update performance goals in a central library, so they’re available for use in goal plans, performance documents, and talent reviews.
Goal Library will allow the users (Employee/Manager) to add Development and Performance goals to the Review Process.
Mass Assign Goals Plan
- This is a mandatory process to run before the review cycle is created. The Goal Plan process is a prerequisite that will allow the employees to add the goals in the Goal Management area.
Schedule Process for Performance Goals will be helpful to use for the assignment.
Employee Self Service – Goal Management
An employee once assigned with the Goal Plan has the ability for the following actions in the Goal Management area.
- Adding goal
- Copy Goal
- Cancel Goal
- Delete Goal
This allows the Employee to perform the actions on the goal based on the Goal review process.
Manager Self-Service – Goal Management
The Manager has similar actions on the Goal Management for his team in Goal Management.
- All the transactions in the goal management will have notifications for the employee and the manager transactions.
- The approval process is located in the client description. If required, Enable the seeded Manager Hierarchy in the goal management approval process.
